After a year-long hiatus from blogging, I've decided to start fresh with a new blog. This is, after all, a new phase of my life. No longer a grad student, I'm responsible for my own reading and writing now. Without deadlines, I must motivate myself to work on my novel and short stories, to submit to journals, and to pore over good fiction - not to mention my work on the literary journal I edit, South85.
As a mother of a small child, it's a constant battle between cranking out words and surrendering to mommy-mode, but I refuse to give up. I hope this blog, if nothing else, will give me some accountability. Read more. Write even more. Make words into sentences that work hard and multi-task. Make something real and beautiful.
I want to live the writing life.
